This marinara sauce is so easy to make and so tasty I don't know why I didn't make this before !!
Ingredients:
1 Large can whole peeled tomatoes (best quality you can find for a better taste)
1 medium onion peeled and halved
A few garlic cloves peeled (not minced)
2 Tbsp Oil (olive or of your choice I use peanut)
1 Tsp dried oregano
A pinch of dried chili flakes
Salt pepper
1/4 cup parmesan
1/4 cup Fresh Basil chopped
1 Tbsp Maple syrup
Steps:
In a medium saucepan, add the oil, onion, garlic, basil, oregano, tomatoes (with the juice) and chili flakes.
bring the sauce to a simmer over medium high then lower to keep a slow simmer for 45 min, stirring occasionally.
Remove most of the onion then using a immersion blender, blend the sauce to the desired texture.
Add the parmesan, maple syrup, salt pepper.
serve with mozzarella stick, garlic bread, arancini or on pasta!
