This marinara sauce is so easy to make and so tasty I don't know why I didn't make this before !!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large can whole peeled tomatoes (best quality you can find for a better taste)

  • 1 medium onion peeled and halved

  • A few garlic cloves peeled (not minced)

  • 2 Tbsp Oil (olive or of your choice I use peanut)

  • 1 Tsp dried oregano

  • A pinch of dried chili flakes

  • Salt pepper

  • 1/4 cup parmesan

  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil chopped

  • 1 Tbsp Maple syrup

Steps:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add the oil, onion, garlic, basil, oregano, tomatoes (with the juice) and chili flakes.

  2. bring the sauce to a simmer over medium high then lower to keep a slow simmer for 45 min, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove most of the onion then using a immersion blender, blend the sauce to the desired texture.

  4. Add the parmesan, maple syrup, salt pepper.

  5. serve with mozzarella stick, garlic bread, arancini or on pasta!
