The Best Lasagna !!

This lasagna is my favorite, so cheesy, so tasty, so good !!

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 1 bulb of Garlic

  • 2 - 4 Onions

  • 1 Celery stalk

  • 2 - 227g Mushroom crates

  • 2 Green bell pepper

  • 2 Red bell pepper

  • 4 cans of condensed Tomato soup

  • 2- 156ml cans of Tomato paste (preferably a seasoned one, like garlic or Italian seasoning)

  • 4 Tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 cup red wine (optional)

  • 1/2 Tsp Chili flakes

  • 1 lb of Ground beef OR equivalent to 1lb of vegetarian substitute of your choice

  • 500 ml tomato juice (or vegetable broth)

  • Salt and Pepper


Other ingredients for the lasagna :

  • 2 cup grated sharp Cheddar

  • 2 cup grated Mozzarella

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan 500g uncooked lasagna (not oven ready either)


Steps for the sauce:

  1. Cut all the veggies before cooking.

  2. In a pot, melt some butter or add some oil.

  3. Add the garlic, cook for 1 min, then add the spices and cook until fragrant (1 min)

  4. And the onions and cook until softened (2 min)

  5. Add the mushroom and cook until there is no more water at the bottom of the pot.

  6. Add red wine to deglaze, then cook until the level of liquid has reduced again.

  7. Add the celery, cook for 1 min or until they are slightly greener.

  8. Add the green bell pepper. cook for 1 min.

  9. Add the red bell pepper, tomato soup, tomato paste, and meat.

  10. Adjust the liquid level by adding tomato juice or vegetable broth.

  11. Bring to a simmer, then reduce to medium heat until it simmer again, then low until it simmer again.

  12. Enjoy on your favorite pasta, can be frozen and stored up to 6 months.


Steps for the lasagna:

  • In a roasting pan, add a layer of sauce at the bottom.

  • Add a layer of pasta on top of the sauce.

  • Alternate the layers of sauce and pasta until there is 1 inch left of space to the pan.

  • Cook at 350F for 45 min to 1h.

  • Take out of the oven and start the oven at broil setting.

  • Add the grated cheese on top of the lasagna and put back in the oven.

  • Cook until the cheese is bubbly and golden (2 to 3 min but can be up to 5 depending of the oven)

  • Serve with your best garlic bread and Cesar salad, or eat only lasagna, all those options are good.

  • Enjoy !
